YF-17 Cobra

Here is a look at Northrop's YF-17 Cobra prototype on display at the
Western Museum of Flight in Hawthorne, CA. This was the unsuccessful
competitor to the F-16 Fighting Falcon in the Air Force's Lightweight Fighter
program, but later selected by the US Navy and subjected to a major redesign
and a new contractor, McDonnell Douglas, to become the F/A-18 Hornet.
