CAM Decals has changed owners, and the decal line is not only
intact, it continues to expand. This is one of the 'Pro Series'
which has been developed by the new ownership.
In this release, CAM Decals has produced markings for an E-model
SLUF (Short Little Ugly 'Fella') circa 1991 from the Blue Hawks,
this one being the Squadron Commander's aircraft painted up in
a one-of-a-kind brown over tan camouflage and 'Desert Storm' markings
that were applied after hostilities ceased. When the Kennedy returned
to the US and disembarked its air wing, VA-72 and its sister squadron
turned in their A-7Es to transition into the F/A-18A Hornet. These
were the last operational sorties of the SLUF in the US Navy.
The aircraft presented
in this decal set is:
- A-7E, BuNo 160552, VA-72, AC/400, USS John F Kennedy, 1991
As you can see in the decal layout, this set provides sufficient
markings for one aircraft. What's more, this is set offers a color
scheme that is much nicer from the Vietnam era.
These will look great on the Trumpeter 1/32 A-7E
kit. This set is definitely recommended!
