Grumman F-14A Tomcat

CAM Decals has changed owners, and the decal line is not only intact, it continues to expand. This is one of the 'Pro Series' which has been developed by the new ownership.

In this release, CAM Decals has produced a nice set of high-visibility maintenance stencils, national markings, and even the intake dorsal walkways. If I remember my markings, these could be used on the Tomcat early in its service as well as on more contemporary F-14s wearing special high-visibility color schemes. Check your references to ensure that the size of the national markings are the same since some of the more contemporary aircraft wore smaller colorized national markings (same size as the low-viz).

What is especially nice about these decals is that not only are they in perfect register, they are not provided in layers. Due to quality problems decal makers are facing these days from some US printers, they are forced to print red markings separate from other colors forcing the modeler to apply the final product in multiple layers. Not so with these! Nice!

As you can see in the decal layout, this set provides sufficient markings for one complete aircraft.

Time to dust off that Tamiya 1/32 F-14A kit. This set is definitely recommended!
