You can see from the variety of releases in their Pro Series,
the new CAM has been keeping a steady pace in producing quality
markings for scale modelers. This one is definitely another nice
release!
This release covers the Squadron Commander's aircraft for VF-84,
the Jolly Rogers. This is one of my all-time favorite color schemes
on the F-14. The aircraft in question is:
- F-14A, BuNo 160414, AJ/401, USS Nimitz, 1981
This aircraft is technically how the aircraft appeared in 1981,
but there is little difference in the color scheme as it appeared
in 1980. Why 1980? Pull out your copy of the 'Final Countdown'
and get that grin back on your face as you see a pair of these
Tomcats going air-to-air with a pair of A6M2 Zeros (okay, they
were modified T-6s but hey, it's Hollywood) on December 6th, 1941.
As you can see in the decal layout, this set provides sufficient
markings for one complete aircraft.
Time to dust off that Tamiya 1/32 F-14A
kit and while you're at it, grab that Tamiya 1/32 A6M2 - it's
time for some dogfighting.
This set is definitely recommended!
