You can see from the variety of releases in their Pro Series,
the new CAM has been keeping a steady pace in producing quality
markings for scale modelers. This one is definitely another nice
release!
This release covers one of the most unique camouflaged F/A-18C
Hornets seen in line service. This aircraft was assigned to the
VFA-86 Sidewinders. This scheme is on par with the equally interesting
tan/brown Fulcrum scheme applied to an aggressor F/A-18A that would
later be transfered to the Spanish Air Force. The aircraft in question
is:
- F/A-18C, BuNo 163459, VFA-86, AB/415, USS Enterprise, 2004
I'm not sure what the story is behind this camouflage scheme and
it doesn't appear to have endured more than one cruise. You can
see a few shots of this aircraft in action in our F/A-18
Hornet section.
As you can see in the decal layout, this set provides sufficient
markings for one complete aircraft.
Time to dust off that Academy 1/32 F/A-18C
kit and create an eye-catching model.
This set is definitely recommended!
