CAM Decals has changed owners, and the decal line is not only intact, it continues to expand. This is one of the 'Pro Series' which has been developed by the new ownership.

In this release, CAM Decals has produced markings to replicate any of the Blue Angel Hornets from either the 1987 or 2001 show seasons. The line-ups are:

  • F/A-18A, 161523, 1, Lead, 1987
  • F/A-18A, 161520, 2, Left Wing, 1987
  • F/A-18A, 161521, 3, Right Wing, 1987
  • F/A-18A, 161524, 4, Slot, 1987
  • F/A-18A, 161527, 5, Solo 1, 1987
  • F/A-18A, 161525, 6, Solo 2, 1987
  • F/A-18B, 161355, 7, Spare, 1987
  • F/A-18A, 161942, 1, Lead, 2001
  • F/A-18A, 161983, 2, Left Wing, 2001
  • F/A-18A, 161955, 3, Right Wing, 2001
  • F/A-18A, 161948, 4, Slot, 2001
  • F/A-18A, 161969, 5, Solo 1, 2001
  • F/A-18A, 161963, 6, Solo 2, 2001
  • F/A-18B, 161746, 7, Spare, 2001

While the main differences between these show seasons were the pilots and aircraft bureau numbers, the 1987 aircraft still carried McDonnell Douglas F/A-18 Hornet on the dorsal spine whilst the 2001 aircraft carried Boeing F/A-18 Hornet is in the same location.

Time to dust off those Hasegawa and Monogram 1/48 Hornet kits. This set is definitely recommended.
