CAM Decals has changed owners, and the decal line is not only
intact, it continues to expand. This is one of the 'Pro Series'
which has been developed by the new ownership.
In this release, CAM Decals has produced markings for one very
distinctive US Marine Corps F-4J Phantom II of VMFA-235 Death Angels
for the Hasegawa, Italeri, or Monogram kits. The aircraft presented
in this decal set is:
- F-4J, 153879, VMFA-235 Death Angels, DB/9, MCAS Kaneohe Bay
HI, 1970
As you can see in the decal layout, this set doesn't waste any
space and provides all of the distinctive markings, national markings,
and many of the more visible maintenance stencils and warning markings
for the aircraft. A good supply of white stars are also provided
to render the star-studded radome that really would look excellent
on the scale flightline.
Time to dust off that Hasegawa 1/48 F-4J Phantom II kit though
it should also work fine with Italeri's recent re-release of the
ESCI F-4J (look here)
or even Revell-Monogram's 1/48 F-4J (look here). This set is definitely
recommended for the Phantom Phan.
