Cobra Company has released quite a few interesting detail
sets over the years, but you may not know that they've also
released a few decal sheets as well. This particular sheet
provides the maintenance stenciling in subdued gray-green for
the 160th SOAR's MH-60L.
The 160th SOAR is the only operator of the AH-6 and MH-6 Little
Birds and also operates a number of modified MH-60 and AH-60
Blackhawks and MH-47 Chinooks.
Academy produced the MH-60L in 1/35 scale (look
here) as the AH-60L DAP with tail numbers 26334 and
26335 represented with maintenance stenciling, all in yellow.
The Chief Snake at Cobra Company has provided a contemporary
update for this kit with this decal sheet to represent the
maintenance stenciling for the airframe in its current subdued
color. Once again, tail numbers 26334 and 26335 are represented
on the sheet.
The Academy kit is still available from your local hobby retailer
or many online hobby shops. A quick scan of several online
shops shows a street price between $44-$50 USD, which is a
bargain considering the prices on many of the latest kit releases.
If you've wanted to build one of these special operations
aircraft, you can still get a new kit at a good price and these
decals to update the kit at a VERY reasonable price!
Definitely recommended!
Cobra Company Decals are available directly from Cobra Company
(the manufacturer) on their website.
