The folks at Meteor Productions continue to turn out great aftermarket
decals with some of the best instructions/color profiles on the market.
This set covers three F4U-1A Corsairs flown by Major Greg 'Pappy'
Boyington while he commanded VMF-214 and a VMF-422 example.
Markings are provided for four aircraft:
- F4U-1A, 17965, 8, VMF-422, May 1944 as flown by 1Lt Stout
- F4U-1A, 18086, 86, VMF-214, Nov 1943, as flown by Maj Boyington
- F4U-1A, 17883, 883, VMF-214, Dec 1943, as flown by Maj Boyington and 1Lt McClurg
- F4U-1A, 17915, 915, VMF-214, Jan 1944, the aircraft in which Maj Boyington was shot down
A partial set of maintenance stencils are also included for one
aircraft. This decal will work nicely for the Trumpeter 1/32 Corsairs
as well as with the Revell kit.
Cutting Edge Decals are available directly from Meteor Productions
(the manufacturer) on their website.
Highly recommended!
My sincere thanks to Meteor Productions
for this review sample!
