Can decal manufacturers suffer from Advanced Modelers' Syndrome
(AMS) like the rest of us? When you see this latest release
from Cutting Edge, you'll know they are not immune!
This decal set was thoroughly researched to identify and render
each of the nine Fokker Dr.I/F.1s that Baron Manfred von Richthofen
flew (more than once).
This decal set provides markings for nine aircraft:
- Fokker F.I, 102/17, WrNr 1729, Marckebeeke, Sep 1917,
2 victories
- Fokker Dr.I, 127/17, WrNr 1838, Avesnes-le-Sec, late Feb
1918, 3 victories
- Fokker Dr.I, 152/17, WrNr 1864, Avesbes-le-Sec, Mar 1918,
3 victories
- Fokker Dr.I, 127/17, WrNr 1838, Lechelle, Mar
1918, 3 victories
- Fokker Dr.I, 425/17, WrNr 2009, Lechelle, late Mar
1918, 2 victories
- Fokker Dr.I, 427/17, WrNr 2103, Lechelle, late Mar
1918, 9 victories
- Fokker Dr.I, 161/17, WrNr 1873, Awoingt, Mar
1918, No victories
- Fokker Dr.I, 127/17, WrNr 1838, Lechelle, Apr
1918, 3 victories
- Fokker Dr.I, 425/17, WrNr 2009, Cappy, Apr
1918, 2 victories, killed in this aircraft/scheme
This set also includes the relevant national markings for
each of the aircraft and stencils. In fact, you'll notice
multiple stencil sets on these sheets, the researchers have
rendered not only the wording unique to the aircraft, but the
stencil fonts used on specific aircraft. Now that is AMS!

The instructions include nice full-color side and top profiles
to illustrate decal placement and relevant color schemes as
well as scrap underside markings for under-wing marking placements.
Highly recommended!
My sincere thanks to Meteor Productions
for this review sample!
