Following on the heels of the Fokker Triplane Part 1 set that
covers nine of Baron Manfred von Richthofen's aircraft (reviewed
here), this set highlights three other aircraft flown by German
aces.
The anchor-adorned Fokker flow by Rudolf Klimke is an
interesting subject, but the pilot himself became notable
as the first person to bomb London at night.
This decal set was thoroughly researched to identify and render
each of these Fokker Dr.Is right down to the specific font
style used in the maintenance stencils (which varied between
aircraft).
This decal set provides markings for three aircraft:
- Fokker Dr.I, 454/17, WrNr 2079, Avesnes-le-Sec, Mar
1918, 40 victories as flown by Oberleutnant Freiherr von
Richthofen, Staffelfuhrer, Jasta 11
- Fokker Dr.I, 577/17, WrNr 2247, Halluin-Ost, May 1918,
16 victories as flown by Leutnant Rudolf Klimke, Jasta 27
- Fokker Dr.I, 404/17, WrNr 1988, Toulis, Mar
1918, 27 victories as flown by Hauptmann Adolf Ritter von Tutschek,
Commander JG.2
This set also includes the relevant national markings for
each of the aircraft and stencils.
The instructions include nice full-color side and top profiles
to illustrate decal placement and relevant color schemes as
well as scrap underside markings for under-wing marking placements.
Highly recommended!
My sincere thanks to Meteor Productions
for this review sample!
