For years now, Kagero has been publishing a wide variety of aircraft monographs and in many of these titles the authors provide an impressive selection of color profiles and even decals for selected profiles. These decals usually covered subjects that were largely overlooked by most other decal companies. Here we have Kagero's first decal releases without a monograph for Tamiya's 1/72 P-51D Mustang kit. This set covers three colorful subjects with nice nose art that again have not been seen as decals that I can recall.
The examples presented here include:
- P-51D-25-NA, 44-72671, 457 FS/506 FG, 528, Iwo Jima, 1945, 'The Enchantress' as flown by 2Lt William Saks
- P-51D-25-NA, 44-72570, 457 FS/506 FG, 542, Iwo Jima, 1945, 'Fighting Lady' as flown by Lt Ralph Gardner/2Lt Chester Jatczak
- F-6D-10-NA, 44-14841, 82 TRS/71 TRG, Hill Field, Mindoro, 1945, as flown by Capt William Shomo
As with the Kagero monographs, these decals are accompanied by large color profiles presented in all four views (top, bottom, left and right sides) to provide good painting and decal placement instructions.
If you're looking for some nice subjects that will be different than most other Mustangs on the contest table, here are three good choices.
