CAF CF-18 416 Sqn 60 Years

Leading Edge has released the latest in the series of special CAF Hornet schemes. This one is CF-18 188712, commemorating 60 years of 416 Sqn (1941-2001). Unlike some of the special color schemes, this one is still subdued (or tactical) with no colors showing. This also translates into an easier scheme for the average modeler as well. If you squint a little closer at the larger image of the above photo, you'll note LIVE weapons on this Hornet as the aircraft was conducting security flights shortly after 9/11/2001.

The decal sheet comes with a complete set of national markings, maintenance stencils and aircraft identification marks, as well as the special commemorative markings. Even the false canopy under the nose is provided as decals.

This will definitely be an easy color sheme to try. If you've been collecting the Leading Edge special Hornet schemes in the past but have been intimidated up until now, this will be a great start into building special paint scheme aircraft.
