Leading Edge has released the latest installment in their
show Hornet series. This is the 2007 season Canadian Armed
Forces CF-18A Hornet used on the airshow circuit, this aircraft
assigned to 410 Squadron based out of Cold Lake, Alberta.
As
with the Belgians and their F-16s, the Canadians lead the world
with the most colorful Hornets. Granted that there have been
some stunning Hornets showing up at Tiger Meets, the Canadians
still get top honors for their new and colorful airshow Hornets
year after year.
The decal sheet comes with a complete set of national markings,
maintenance stencils and aircraft identification marks, as
well as the special commemorative markings. Even the false
canopy under the nose is provided as decals. The instructions
don't indicate which kit in 1/72 scale these markings were
designed for, but they should work with a little tweaking and
trimming with virtually any 1/72 Hornet, including Academy's
new release.
This will definitely be an easy color sheme to try. If you've
been collecting the Leading Edge special Hornet schemes in
the past but have been intimidated up until now, this will
be a great start into building special paint scheme aircraft.
