Alright you fans of Soviet & Russian military aviation, Linden
Hill has released a new super set of decals for the Aero L-39 Albatross.
This trainer is in service with many nations around the world and
has become an 'inexpensive' warbird in other countries (check
here for a walk around of the aircraft).
This set of decals provides markings for fourteen different aircraft:
- L-39C, White 44, Centre for the Demonstration of Air Technology,
Kubinka AB, Moscow Military District, Russian Federation, 2002.
- L-39C, White 59, Centre for the Demonstration of Air Technology,
Kubinka AB, Moscow Military District, Russian Federation, 2002.
- L-39C, Red 122, 783rd Training Centre, Armavir Fighter Pilot
Academy, Armavir AB, SKVO - North-Caucasian Military District,
Russian Federation, early 1990s.
- L-39C, Blue 04, 783rd Training Centre, Armavir Fighter Pilot
Academy, Armavir AB, SKVO - North-Caucasian Military District,
Russian Federation, early 1990s.
- L-39C, Yellow 11, Air Force of the ‘Chechen Republic
of Ichkeria’, Khankala North AB, Chechnya, December 1994.
- L-39C, Red 01, 121 ShAE, Armenian AF, Gyumri AB, 2005
- L-39C, Blue 03, Azerbaijani AF, Kurdamir AB, 2004
- L-39C, Black 0010, Republic of Afghanistan AF, Mazari-Sharif
AB, 1977
- L-39C, Black 003, 393th Training Air Regiment (UAL), VVS and
PVO Democratic Republic of Afghanistan, Mazari Sharif AB, 1979
- L-39C, Black 005, 393 UAL, VVS & PVO DRA, Mazari-Sharif
AB, DR Afghanistan, 1983
- L-39C, Blue 15, Uzbek AF, Honobod AB, 2005
- L-39C, Red 8703, 910th "Julius Fucik" Regiment,
VPAF, Nha Trang AB, SR Vietnam, 2003.
- L-39C, Black 1709, Gambela AB, Ethiopian AF, 1980s
- L-39ZA, White 209, Bulgarian VVS, 12th Training Air Base,
Kamenetz AB, 2004
The set also includes seven pages of full-color profiles, details
of each aircraft, paint tables, and even photos of representative
aircraft.

The L-39 has been pressed into combat duties as other trainers
in the past because it is an inexpensive to operate and maintain
aircraft among the poorer nations of the world. This decal set
captures the L-39 in its pure training as well as its combat roles.
