F/A-18 MAW Hornets Part II

MAW-Decals has another nice selection of US Marine Corps F/A-18 Hornets. This set covers three different Hornet variants from three different squadrons: F/A-18A+, F/A-18C, and F/A-18D. The A+ is wearing CAG colors while deployed in the light strike role aboard USS Nimitz.

This set includes all of the national, service, unit, and distinctive markings for three aircraft, including sufficient maintenance stenciling, walkways, and formation lighting.

This set provides markings for the following:

• F/A-18A+, BuNo 162396, VMFA-232, NH/300, USS Nimitz, March 2007
• F/A-18C, BuNo 163758, VMFA-212, WD/02, May 2003
• F/A-18D, BuNo 165411, VMFA(AW)-121, VK/05, OIF, 2007
  

I'm not certain if the VMFA-232 CAG bird wore the full-color national markings with this lighter blue background as presented here (there are always variations to the published standards) but the blue background is darker on 'standard' applications. As always, check your references.

This decal set will provide an additional level of fidelity and detail to your next Hornet project. These can be used with any manufacturers' 1/48 Hornet kit and apply to the F/A-18A (using the MAW A+ update set), F/A-18C or F/A-18D Hornet.
