If you haven't visited Spada Decals' website recently, prepared
to be blown away by all of the decal subjects they've produced
in the last year or so. What's more, the quality is excellent,
the price is very reasonable, and the subjects covered provide
a terrific alternative to the 'usual' array of decal offerings.
In this set provides the markings for three Curtiss Hawks
in international service. You can use the nice Special Hobby P-36A (look
here) or convert the Trumpeter P-40B
into a P-36 using Cutting Edge's beautiful conversion (look
here).
The three aircraft provided in this set are:
- Mohawk Mk.IV, AR628/2527, 6 Sqn, South African Air Force,
Swartkop, Pretoria, South Africa, 1942
- Mohawk Mk.IV, BS796, 5 Sqn, RAF, Dinjan, India, 1942
- Mohawk Mk.IV, 482, XY-C, Mohawk Sqn, Portuguese AF, Ota,
Portugal, 1943
The printing is sharp and nicely registered. The decals are
printed on solid decal film, which means you'll have to carefully
trim as much clear carrier film from the edges of your decal
as practical.
This set is definitely recommended!
