Superscale International is well-known for their aftermarket decals. At one time these decals were produced under the Microscale brand before the business was split up, but even then Superscale decals were still printed by Microscale. Of course this company goes back many decades and the company more recently became part of Squadron's line-up of hobby products. This set was printed by Cartograf, so the times sure have changed!
This set was produced for the recent Hobbyboss masterpiece, their 1/32 F-84E Thunerjet kit. This set provides the essential markings to replicate one aircraft with some distinctive nose art:
- F-84E-10-RE, 49-2299, 36 FBW Commander, Germany, 1952, as flown by Colonel Robert Scott
The set provides distinctive and national markings for this aircraft printed on three sheets. The instructions provide color references to FS 595 paints though the majority of this airframe is bare metal so you'll also be needing your Alclad.
This is a very interesting alternative subject for the Hobbyboss kit and represents a combat aircraft from the Korean war, so it is very appropriate to bomb up this beauty.
My sincere thanks to Squadron Mail Order for this review sample!
