As far as color and variety, American F-15 Eagles are boring. The Eagle has never had the opportunity in the USAF to have the squadron colors that the US Navy applied to their aircraft during the cold war. For a little F-15 variety, you have but to go to Japan to see what a little color can do. The JASDF Aggressor Eagles have carried some colorful schemes, but still nothing in league with the unique color schemes of some of the Belgian F-16s or the commemorative Canadian Hornets. Well not so fast.

Here is an F-15J that was one of four painted up in a dragon scheme for the 2003 airshow season in Japan. According to the information included in the decal set, this was the only one of the four to acquire the dragon's mouth and eyes on the nose.

Designed for the Tamiya 1/32 F-15J kit, this decal set comes with four sheets, as you would imagine, it will take a lot of decal to cover the size of that dragon across the top of that huge wing.

The decals provide all of the distinctive markings for F-15J, 72-8963 as well as national markings, unit markings and a complete set of maintenance stencils.

The instruction sheet also has an excellent discussion of the evolution of the F-15J with some different modifications and features that distinguish these aircraft from other Eagles.

The printing is perfectly in register. The instructions are printed double-sided in color, providing excellent color scheme as well as decal placement information.

If ever there was a decal sheet that makes me want to run out and buy a kit, this would be one of them! Recommended!
