TwoBobs has turned out another interesting set of markings, this
time for the really colorful VFA-131 CAG aircraft. Check out the
photo above to see what I mean!
This decal set reflects a few notable achievements by the Wildcats.
They transitioned into the Lot XIX Hornets in the Summer of 2003
to become the first Hornet unit with Link-16 datalink. Shortly
afterwards, they departed aboard the USS George Washington to support
Operation Iraqi Freedom, after the photo above was taken.
This decal set is presented on two decal sheets tailored for the
Academy 1/32 F/A-18C kit and has all of the colorful distinctive
markings for the airframe as well as a set of national markings,
slime lights, and many of the essential maintenance stencils. The
aircraft depicted in this set is F/A-18C BuNo 165217, AG/400, USS
George Washington, August 2003.
For a look at the same aircraft wearing blue tails a year later,
go here.
This set is highly recommended!
