If you're a NAVAIR modeler and like to model the 'Bug', the
F/A-18 Hornet, I'm sure you've been underwhelmed by the lack
of color on US Hornets. Of course there is the exception of
'Chippy Ho!' out of Japan, but the vast majority of Bugs
are low visibility, causing the modeler to look to the north
at the colorful CF-118s of the Canadian Armed Forces. Well
not any more!
Here are the markings for a VERY colorful Hornet assigned
to VFA-82 'Marauders' aboard the USS Enterprise. Photos of
this aircraft appeared on the internet shortly after its
maiden flight in its new colors. Specifically, the aircraft
is:
- F/A-18C, 165200, AB/300, USS Enterprise, May 2004, CAG's "AFLAC" Scheme
National markings are provided in this set, though maintenance stencils are not.
The printing is perfectly in register. The instructions are printed
double-sided in color, providing excellent color scheme as well
as decal placement information.
