TwoBobs has released an interesting new set for the Hasegawa
or Revell-Monogram F-14D Tomcat. This set commemorates the
Tomcat's last Pacific cruise. VF-31 Tomcatters were the last
west coast operators of the F-14 before they too were assimilated
into the Hornet community. The east coast Tomcats will be gone
soon as well. A sad day indeed!
This set covers the red-tailed aircraft from VF-31's
cruise aboard the USS John Stennis last year. The artwork
has the squadron mascot of Felix the Cat in various poses on
either side of the aircraft. The specific aircraft is:
- F-14D, 164603, NK/101, USS John Stennis, 2004
With all of the commemorative markings needed for the aircraft,
the decal set has the cockpit warning flags, intake warnings,
rescue stenciling and slime lights as well as national markings.
You'll need to rob another sheet for the remainder of the maintenance
stencils for this aircraft.
The printing is perfectly in register. The instructions are
printed double-sided in color, providing excellent color scheme
as well as decal placement information. Highly recommended!
