TwoBobs has has returned with the an interesting color scheme
for a US Marine Corps' F/A-18D Hornet. This aircraft is the
squadron commander's mount from VMFA(AW)-332 Moonlighters.
While the aircraft wears standard tactical camouflage and markings,
the crescent moon, nose band and national markings are all
colorful (high-visibility) markings. There is even additional
markings on the aircraft representing pieces of the squadron's
history including the squadron's legacy 'MR' tailcode worn
on the inboard surfaces of the vertical stabs.
Even more interesting is that this same decal set is provided
in 1/48 AND 1/32 scale. The instructions clearly call out those
decals which require multiple layers to recreate the artwork.
The aircraft covered in this set is:
- F/A-18D, 164967, VMFA(AW)-232, EA/00, USMC, Feb 2007
Whether you're building your night attack Hornet in 1/48 or
1/32 scale, this set has you covered with some interesting
markings.
This set is highly recommended!
