Here is an interesting set of decals to provide some color
to your gray camouflaged Hornets. This set provides two three-color
wraparound schemes worn by the F/A-18B Hornets of VFA-125,
the 'Rough Raiders'. The unit provides fleet replacement training
as well as adversary air combat training for the Pacific.
These two paint schemes represent the desert and blue/gray
schemes and the well-illustrated four-view paint diagrams show
not only proper decal placement, but also how to replicate
these paint schemes. Here is a color profile of the desert
scheme here with available paints.
The two subjects of this sheet are:
- F/A-18B, 162850, VFA-125 Rought Raiders, NJ/325, NAS Leemore,
CA, May 2005
- F/A-18B, 162876, VFA-125 Rought Raiders, NJ/327, NAS Leemore,
CA, Nov 2005
This decal set has all of the markings needed to produce either
or both aircraft, so dust off those Hasegawa B-model Hornets!
This set is highly recommended!
