TwoBobs has tackled another interesting set of subjects -
a pair of Warthogs out of the (what used to be called) Fighter
Weapons School. Nellis is home to a number of squadrons, each
equipped with the same major aircraft types used within the
Air Force. Not every type is present though, and crews bring
their own aircraft for school. In this case, the 66th teaches
advanced combat tactics to the A-10A community and
students are confronted with aggressors out of the 64th and
65th Aggressor Squadrons to learn tactics used by many of our
current and potential adversaries.
This set provides markings for two school aircraft from the
66 Weapons Squadron/57 Wing at Nellis AFB. These aircraft
are:
- A-10A, 81-0977, 66 WS/57 W, 'Weapons School'', April 2005
- A-10A, 80-0229, 66 WS/57 W, '65 WPS', April 2005
This set of decals also provides enough stencils and markings
to render two complete models. If you're looking for one or
more Weapons School schemes for your Hasegawa, Italeri, or
Revell Warthogs, here is a nice option.
