The folks at Yellowhammer Models continue to turn out great aftermarket
decals with some of the best instructions/color profiles on the market.
This set provides the markings for eight of the RAF's 74 Sqn Phantoms,
which were the only GE-powered aircraft in their Phantom fleet. These
aircraft previously served as F-4Js with the USN and USMC prior to going
into storage. When delays in the Tornado interceptor variant left the RAF
short of aircraft to meet their operational needs, they obtained a number
of these surplus F-4Js, all of which had been updated prior to delivery.
The main subject of this decal sheet is aircraft S, which showed up at the
1988 NATO Tiger Meet with some appropriate markings, but after seeing how
'plain' their aircraft was upon seeing the rest of the NATO flightline,
the crew went into town, purchased some paint and revised their colors.
The eight aircraft presented in this set are:
- F-4J, 74 Sqn, BuNo 153768, Serial ZE350, T
- F-4J, 74 Sqn, BuNo 153773, Serial ZE351, I
- F-4J, 74 Sqn, BuNo 153783, Serial ZE352, G
- F-4J, 74 Sqn, BuNo 153785, Serial ZE353, E
- F-4J, 74 Sqn, BuNo 153795, Serial ZE354, R
- F-4J, 74 Sqn, BuNo 153803, Serial ZE355, S
- F-4J, 74 Sqn, BuNo 153850, Serial ZE356, Q
- F-4J, 74 Sqn, BuNo 153892, Serial ZE357, N
This set is beautifully printed and the white areas look to be opaque,
so you shouldn't have any color bleed-through here. The set comes complete
with maintenance stenciling as well as the distinctive unit and national markings.
Yellowhammer Models are available directly from Meteor Productions

Definitely recommended!
