SBD-1 Dauntless

The folks at Yellowhammer Models continue to turn out great aftermarket decals with some of the best instructions/color profiles on the market.

This set provides four leader aircraft from two Marine Corps bombing squadrons operating the SBD-1 Dauntless. Marking options are provided for all four aircraft, though there are only enough markings to render one aircraft from this sheet.

Designed for the Trumpeter 1/32 SBD-1/2 release, this set contains two sheets of decals and one set of Black Magic masks. The first sheet contains the national markings, distinctive unit markings, and the decal version of the fin flash. The second sheet provides one complete set of maintenance stencils, propeller manufacturer's markings, and even propeller tip warning stripes.

The Black Magic mask set contains masks to paint the wing chevrons as well as the fuselage and cowling bands. The set also contains masks for the fin flash should you rather paint your flash rather than use the included decals.

• SBD-1, BuNo 1616, 1-MB-7, VMB-2, 3rd Section Leader, 1941

This set is beautifully printed and the white areas look to be opaque, so you shouldn't have any color bleed-through here.
