The folks at Yellowhammer Models continue to turn out great aftermarket
decals with some of the best instructions/color profiles on the
market. This set is their first installment of the F9F-2 Panther
series just in time for the Trumpeter and Hobbycraft releases of
their F9F-2/3 and F9F-2P kits.
In this installment, we have four interesting Panthers to choose
from:
- F9F-2, BuNo 123498, VF-71, L/113, USS Bon Homme Richard, 1952,
'Sweet Violette/ Potato City Flash'
- F9F-2, BuNo 123469, VF-71, L/101, USS Bon Homme Richard, 1952,
'Papasan'
- F9F-3, BuNo 123071, VF-51, S/109, USS Valley Forge, 3 Jul 1950,
first USN jet kill (Yak-9)
- F9F-2, BuNo 123702, VF-781, D/121, USS Bon Homme Richard, 1951,
'Paper Doll'
The decals are very nicely printed and perfectly in register.
A set of Black Magic masks are provided should you prefer to paint
the distinctive red nose flash instead of the provided decals.
Also note the second sheet of decals that provide a nice set
of maintenance stencils for this Panther.
