The latest new decal set from Zotz caters to the new 1/32
P-51B Mustang produced by Trumpeter. This set provides three
distinctive aircraft. The color profiles show the
proper placement of the early ID stripes that were worn on
the wings and horizontal stabs as well as the D-Day stripes later
worn on the type. The aircraft in this set are:
- P-51B-5-NA, 43-12214, 336 FS/4 FG, VF-C, 'Rebel Queen',
early 1944, as flown by Capt Fred Glover
- Mustang Mk.III, FB387, RAF 315 Sqn (Poland), PK-G, as flown
by Sqn Leader Eugeniusz Horbaczewski, 1944
- Mustang Mk.III, FB116, RAF 315 Sqn (Poland), PK-G, as flown
by Sqn Leader Eugeniusz Horbaczewski, June 1944
The two aircraft flown by Squadron Leader Horbaczewski were
equipped with the Malcolm hood to improve rearward visibility.
You'll have to find an aftermarket hood or steal one out of
the Revell kit (if you have one with the hood that is).
As you can see, this set will really enhance the appearance
of the Trumpeter kit, though these should work on the Revell
1/32 P-51B if you're so inclined.
This set is definitely recommended!
