Zotz Decals 1/48
Vigilante

The name is ZOTZ (from the Mayan word for Vampire). Behind ZOTZ is the well known name of Eli Raphael who has given us many colorful decal releases under the Albatros brand. This time, Eli has released a set that is beyond belief and was obviously a labor of love.

In this set, we have a selection of seven colorful RA-5C Vigilantes, well actually six aircraft, but one of them (156608) is represented as it appeared in two different squadrons. The artwork was done by our own Fotios Rouch as this is one of his favorite aircraft. The decal set is being released in two scales - ZTZ48018 for the new Trumpeter 1/48 RA-5C Vigilante kit, and ZTZ72018 which will work on the Airfix kit, but Trumpeter will have their Vigilante released in 1/72 very soon.

The set includes full color profiles of each of the aircraft, a black & white instruction sheet with general painting instructions and stencil placement, and three sheets of decals. One sheet contains all of the colorful squadron emblems, tail flashes, etc., the second has the black lettering, MODEX and tailcodes, while the third sheet has the national markings and maintenance stenciling for one aircraft.

Since most of the decal producers are now in the limited run business these days, you only get one chance at buying a certain set of decals before they are gone forever. Such is the case with the Zotz Decal line, but if there is any hint of a Vigilante in 1/72 scale or 1/48, this is one set to definitely stash away for your Trumpeter kit. This set is highly recommended!
