One of the more impressive models to be released from Italeri
was their 1/48 ACH-47A Chinook helicopter that looks every bit
as nice inside and out as the Academy/MRC 1/48 CH-46 Sea Knight
and CH-53E Super Sea Stallion kits. It was also interesting that
Italeri would choose the heavy gunship version as their first offering
but it was welcomed with great enthusiasm by the helicopter modeling
community.
The one problem that did crop up in the discussions was the kit
decals - they didn't quite capture the artwork carried on these
aircraft in Vietnam. Well, once again, Zotz to the rescue.
