Bagheera is a brand that it is new to me. This release is a 1/35
scale concrete supplemental armor that was added to the apertures
on each side of the gun mantle at the front of Sturmgeschutz III
tanks. This concrete was poured into those areas to beef up the
armor protection there. It was used on all the marks of the Stugs,
from the Ausf.A to the Ausf.G. On the A & B versions this aperture
was just on the drivers side, later Ausfs. had it on both sides.
Pictures of this concrete can be seen in Squadron’s In Action
book, no. 14, in a drawing on page 24 and in a photograph of an
Ausf.G that has been captured by the US Army on page 49.
This concrete is molded in light tan resin and Bagheera sells
it both 1/48th scale and 1/35th. The set has two pieces in the
cello bag it comes in.
This set will dress up the front of any version of the Stug III.
Recommended.
