UH-1D/H Huey Update & Detail Set

Several years ago, Panda Models released their 1/35 UH-1D/H Huey kit in several boxings. While the kit iteself wasn't bad, the rivet and panel lines were a tad overdone and the interior details were very Spartan.

Not long after that kit was released, Cobra Company produced this nice resin detail set that provided a more detailed cockpit and cabin. The kit and detail set were subsequently lost in time as modelers awaited a superdetailed tooling of this rotary-winged workhorse. Then DML announced their new UH-1D kit a few months ago.

The good news is that the new DML kit is on the street. The bad news is that the DML kit is really the Panda kit reissued with some crew figures and color photo-etched details from Eduard. We're still waiting on that new Huey...

In the meantime, Cobra Company still has this nice detail set available that works in the DML kit as well as the Panda (since they're the same kit). This set consists of 28 detail parts cast in tan resin. The details include:

The instructions are nicely done and well-illustrated to show you where in the cabin everything goes and what needs to be removed to make room for the new parts. The new cabin will look nice and coupled with the Eduard color photo-etched details, will definitely be an eye catcher!
