Cobra Company has released this comprehensive update to the Panda Models 1/35 UH-1N kit. As indicated in the instructions, two essential updates are needed to make the basic UH-1N correct. First is the nose - the kit nose is inaccurate in shape. Included in this set is a hollow-cast replacement that will provide the right look. Second, the tail rotor is on the wrong side of the aircraft, this is a simple matter of turning the gearbox around on the tail.
The remainder of this set brings the kit up to current USMC configuration. The set includes the aforementioned nose, interior nose supports, avionics racks for inside the nose, replacement center and overhead consoles, replacement instrument panel, new pilots' seats with optional armor, FLIR unit, IR jammer, various external antennas, and new pilots' doors with interior detailing.
The instructions are nicely illustrated and show the placement of exterior each part by part number. It is still a good idea to have some photo references to check for proper placement/orientation of each part.
If you've been looking for a nice scale model of the UH-1N in 1/35 scale and held off on the Panda kit due to its spartan details, wait no longer, this set will bring the kit up to your expectations.

If you're more into USAF aviation, Cobra Company has also released a conversion/detail set for the UH-1Ns flown by the 20th SOS 'Green Hornets'.
My sincere thanks to Cobra Company for this review sample!
