Cobra Company has really been busy lately! They've turned out
no less than four detail sets for Trumpeter's impressive 1/35 CH-47
Chinook kits. This set completely transforms the cockpit of the
CH-47A into a much more accurate representation of the full-scale
front-office.
This detail set replaces the kit instrument panel with not only
nice details on the front, but instrument bodies visible from behind
the panel, through the windscreen. This mounts on a new resin cockpit
floor that has new pilots' seats, flight controls, and center console.
The equipment racks that divide
the cockpit and cargo bay are also transformed into the configuration
of the Vietnam era machines. The set also includes detailed front
and rear wheels as well as an update for the early-style rear wheel
struts. The set is rounded out with a pair of M60 door guns complete
with mounts, ammo cans, and shell bags.
With this set alone, your Trumpeter 1/35 CH-47A kit
will definitely be an eye-opener! You'll want to combine this set
with three additional updates to really upgrade the model::
These sets are definitely recommended for the 'Hook' modeler and
are available directly from Cobra
Company (www.cobracompany.com).
My sincere thanks to Cobra
Company (www.cobracompany.com) for this review sample!
