Here is some really nice casting from Cutting Edge. This set is
a pair of AIM-9 missile rails that replace the kit rails in your
Tamiya or Revell 1/32 F-14. The missile rails in the kit are supposed
to represent the basic LAU-7 missile rail that is seen on the wing
glove stations (Stations 1A, 1B, 8A, 8B). The LAU-7 was replaced
with the BOL rail - the LAU-138 which still provides the AIM-9
launch/carriage capability, but also improves the F-14's chaff
dispensing capability by 160 chaff bundles per missile rail.
The casting on these parts absolutely impressive, with the proper
recessed missile track and the various fittings all in the proper
place. The kit's LAU-7s should look so good! In fact, after installing
these rails, you'd almost hate to obstruct the details by mounting
an AIM-9!
This set is definitely a 'no-brainer' for the Tomcat lover. Simply
remove the casing blocks and replace the kit missile rails. Nice
one Cutting Edge! Definitely recommended!
My sincere thanks to Meteor
Productions for this review sample!
