For years, modelers have been using the kit-supplied plugs to
block off turret holes when modeling the atomic bombers used
by the 509th Bomb Group. While this has sufficed for many modelers,
those who build for accuracy have either had to develop their own
conversions or ignore the blatant problems in accuracy when using
the kit parts.
Meteor has released an interesting fix for the atomic bomber
configuration, replacing whole sections of the fuselage to achieve
an accurate 'smooth' patch. In addition, the waist blisters require
removal and replacement with smaller streamlined windows. The instructions
walk the modeler through the careful surgery and transplant which
will achieve an accurate fuselage configuration, and when coupled with
the soon-to-be-released B-29 corrected cowlings, you'll have one of
the most accurate B-29s on the contest table!
This is a nicely done correction for the Monogram kit!
My sincere thanks to Meteor Productions
for this review sample!
