Those Intakes
Cutting Edge has been really stepped up their line of seamless
intakes and this release is one of their latest masterpieces.
This set provides a seamless intake duct for the Hasegawa 1/48
A-7D or A-7E kit. I used a similar set
in my SLUF project (look here)
years ago and it was striking then just how nice that seamless
duct looked. The set I had used was cast in tan resin and
required painting.
This set has eliminated that step as the duct is cast in white
styrene while the compressor face and nosegear well walls are cast
in gray resin. This set requires that the intake lip be removed
from the fuselage halves which makes integration of the intake
easier than mine! Other that that one alteration to the basic Hasegawa
kit, this is a drop-in fit.
Conclusions
This is a nice enhancement to any of the Hasegawa 1/48 A-7
releases and will ease your workload if you've been
dreading the prospect of filling and painting inside that intake
trunk.
This set is definitely recommended!
My sincere thanks to Meteor Productions for this review sample!
