Those Intakes
Cutting Edge has been really stepped up their line of seamless
intakes and this release is one of their latest masterpieces.
Designed
for the earlier versions of the Academy 1/48 F-111 kits, specifically
the F-111A, F-111C, or EF-111A kits. If you are building the Academy
1/48 F-111E, F-111F, or FB-111A, you'll need the Triple Plow II
intake set from Cutting Edge (CEC48525). This set was not designed
for the Monogram F-111 kits, if you want to try them in those kits,
you're on your own...
The engine faces, splitter plates, and intake bullets are molded
in gray resin while the ducts are molded in white to save you a
step or two as you'd otherwise have to paint the duct yourself.
See how nice it is to see that seamless ducting and the compressor
face at the end?
Conclusions
This is a nice enhancement to any of the Academy 1/48 F-111
kits listed above and will ease your workload if you've been dreading
the prospect of filling and painting inside those intake trunks.
Definitely recommended!
My sincere thanks to Meteor
Productions for this review sample!
