For those of us who've stashed one of Trumpeter's magnificent
1/48 Focke Wulf Fw 200 Condor kits, Contact-Résine has released
a very nice set of resin weighted wheels.
Weighed wheels differ from many standard kit wheels in that they
aren't round. They're flat on the bottom to represent the aircraft
sitting on the ground with a slight bulge at the flat spot. There
are few things more distracting than to see a beautifully built
and detailed model sitting on perfectly round wheels. The only
time you'll see round wheels on an aircraft is when the aircraft
is in flight.
As you can see in the accompanying photos, this set nicely captures
the details of the tire tread pattern as well as the wheel hubs.
You can purchase this set online from Design & Marketing
International.
My sincere thanks to Design & Marketing
International for this review sample!
