Eduard from the Czech Republic is easily the most prolific producer of aftermarket details. Period. Their series of photo-etched detail sets have brought additional fidelity to otherwise bland subjects, and have taken even the best-produced models and kicked them up a notch or two with details that cannot be produced with injection-molded plastic. Many AMS modelers will collect the relevant Eduard photo-etch sets for a given project, but they'll also go out and gather specific resin enhancements as well. Eduard has stepped up with a new product line to complement their photo-etched detail series - Brassin. Brassin is a play on words with Brass and Resin, and in many sets in this series, the resin details also include a set of photo-etch as well.
In this release, Eduard provides a pair of LAU-10/A Zuni rocket pods which were previously released in 1/48 scale . This set consists of two pods, each finely cast in gray resin and can be portrayed loaded or empty. The set also includes two types of pod end caps (loaded or empty) plus eight warheads for the loaded pods option and a set of photo-etched rocket motor end-caps for the inside of each rear loaded rocket tube. This set also includes a set of decals for pod stencils.
If you want to want another nicely rendered weapon to bomb up your next early Vietnam War aircraft model, this is the weapon set you're looking for. While this set was included in the A-4 Skyhawk weapons set, the LAU-10/A was employed by a variety of other aircraft including the A-1, A-7, F-4, F/A-18, and MB.339. I hope Eduard continues to release more Brassin weapons sets in this scale!
My sincere thanks to Eduard for this review sample!
