Master Details has turned out their latest release, this time providing a landing gear update for Hasegawa's 1/32 Bf 109G kit. This set compliments the Cockpit Interior Set (reviewed here), exterior 'Maximum Detail Set (reviewed here), and Detailed Flap Set (reviewed here). Between these sets, you've taken Hasegawa's beautifully executed kit and added an AMS modeler's dream of detail, all without much muss or fuss.

This set consists of replacement wheel main gear wheels, gear doors, and an interesting jig cast in resin. The main landing gear struts and oleo scissors (not shown) are cast in white metal. A section of wire is included for brake lines. In fact, the resin block in the image is a jig to properly shape the wire for brake lines.

This set compliments earlier releases produced by Master Details though their Maximum Detal Set also includes the landing gear struts (cast in resin), main wheels, and gear doors. What that set doesn't include are the white metal struts and the brake line jig. The instructions clearly show where everything goes and are nicely rendered. The quality of the castings in my set is nice - no air bubbles or other problems that would add more work to the job.

As always, working with resin parts is not very different from styrene except that you can only really use cyanoacrylate adhesives to assemble resin parts or to add them to styrene assemblies.

This set will really set off the Hasegawa 1/32 Bf 109 kit, and when combined with Master Details' other detail sets, will help you create a masterpiece.

Definitely recommended!

My sincere thanks to Master Details (http://www.masterdetailsfromusa.com) for this review sample!
