White Ensign Models continues to expand its product lines into
broader areas and this detail set is no exception. With this detail
set, they've provided one part of four intensive photo-etched detail
sets for the recent Hasegawa 1/72 Lancaster.
In this release, the set provides the wing structure for under
the upper wing halves that will be revealed when the flaps are
dropped. This includes the rear spar that runs along the front
edge of the open flap well. Rib details are also provided for the
flap well.
Next up are the four flap sections, two for each side. These are
also nicely detailed as you can see in the images and also include
the rib details and actuator linkages.
This set is not intended for the average modeler as you'll be
working with very small photo-etched parts that will either need
to be individually glued into place using a cyano adhesive or soldered
using a resistence soldering tool.
This super-detailed conversion with work with any of the Hasegawa 1/72
Lancaster variants and should also work with the venerable Airfix
kit.
The instructions provide good references for parts assembly and
placement, plus some useful notes for modifying the stock kit's
inboard nacelles to facilitate the dropped flaps.

If you think the Hasegawa kit looks nice straight out of the box,
wait until you see the Lanc with all of this photo-etch installed!
This is an AMS modeler's dream!
This set is definitely recommended!
My sincere thanks to White
Ensign Models for this review sample!
