ODG Studios is an interesting company that produces a wide range of display bases and has released an interesting base for Encore Models' 1/32 Blue Max Pfalz kit. What you're seeing above and below is a display that depicts the edge of a grass strip onto which the Pfalz is parked, and a cobblestone walkway for the Ursula Andress resin figure to stand upon. The grass section is textured like grass so it will take paint and drybrushing well to create that look. The unique edge around the display base was cast with the ribbon from a Blue Max medal so you have the ribbon texture there just waiting for painting to replicate that look (should you choose).
I've seen this base painted at the IPMS/USA National Convention and it looks great, especially with a Blue Max cross attached to an edge of the ribbon edge (not included). This display base will look great with a variety of other 1/32 subjects from a Wingnut Wings Eindecker to a Revell Piper Cub. The edge doesn't have to be painted as a ribbon. The possibilities are limited by your imagination.
My sincere thanks to ODG Studios for this review sample!
