A few years ago, I had the pleasure of visiting the
Squadron Mail Order facility just outside of Dallas TX. During
that visit, I was surprised and impressed with a new line of
figures that would be available through Squadron from Carter & Crowley
Ltd. The quality of casting and the level of detail among the
best on the market. I saw this figure set during this
visit, though it wasn't actually released until recently.
Molded in light tan resin, this figure set is ideal for the
figure builder as the six figures are individually packaged
and complete with a variety of gear. Assembly is straightforward
with heads and (with one exception) arms as separate parts
so that you can pose your figures to the environment you're
portraying.
The figures depict five soldiers and their officer in various
sitting poses atop the hull and turret of a Tiger tank. The
figures are wearing winter overgarments, so the season is set
for your vignette. All you need to do is assemble and paint
these figures and provide a tank for them to ride upon.
Conclusion
I am quite amazed how the state of the art in resin casting and figure
sculpting is moving so rapidly as a resin figure of this quality wouldn't
have been possible only a few years ago. And at the low suggested retail
price (which is even lower when purchased from Squadron), this set is
definitely a bargain! Highly recommended!
Here's a link
to the set at Squadron Mail Order.
My sincere thanks to Squadron Mail Order for this review sample!
