Here is a much overlooked figure for your diorama or vignette. A simple donkey that was (and still is) used as a farm laborer carrying supplies, a pack animal carrying supplies in the hills and canyons, and used by the militaries across time to move weapons and supplies.

Construction couldn't be easier, assemble the two halves of the body, put the head on one end, the tail on the other. If the mule had a law degree, the head and tail should be interchangeable, but in this case, placement is obvious.
