This figure kit goes hand in glove with the Kirin 1/35th scale
Aerosan propeller driven ski-mobile (reviewed
here).
It consists of 2 figures: a driver, who sits in the rear tandem
seat, and a gunner, who occupies the front seat.
The driver figure consists of a separate head, hat, upper torso,
arms, lower torso (including both legs) and a pistol in a
holster. He is wearing a quilted uniform and a pointed, Mongolian
style hat with ear-flaps. My hat came damaged a bit with one of
the ear-flaps missing. I will have to replace this with putty or
some such.
The machine-gunner figure consists of a separate head, hat, upper
torso, arms, lower torso (divided into 2 legs this time) and a
pistol in a holster. He wears a fur cap, again with the ear-flaps
and a heavy winter uniform that is unquilted with a wool collar.
The sculpting on these two figures is top notch. Dry fitting them
together reveals that very little putty will have to be used, except
for the butt on the machine-gunner which isn’t fully formed.
These guys will really dress up the Aerosan vehicle once they
are installed in it.
The kit may be a little difficult to track down, but there are
a few mail order houses that still list it.
I purchased mine at my local hobby shop several years ago.
