This older DML kit comes in a end-opening type box. The box art
is by DML’s resident artist Vostad and it is dated as 1998.
The box art is a little strange. It is divided in half. The left
half shows two snipers in front of a log building wearing white
winter uniforms.
The right half shows 2 snipers in camouflaged smocks in front
of some hedges. This was done, because that is the way the 4 figures
are actually molded in the kit as wearing.
The back of the box is the full color assembly instructions with
front and rear views of each figure. Below this are some line drawings
of 3 different types of equipment cases and the reversible camouflage
smock.
Inside the box are one large parts tree and one small parts tree,
both molded in light gray plastic.
The larger tree holds the parts of the 4 figures (divided into
separate torso, arms, legs and head. Also on this tree are: 4 spades
in carrying cases, 3 steel helmets, separate hoods that go on the
2 figures wearing winter uniforms, ammo pouches and a couple pairs
of binoculars. 3 of the figures wear steel helmets and the 4th
figure is wearing a peaked cap. (49 parts).
These figures are finely molded and the detail is very good.
The small tree holds 4 rifles. One of these has the scope molded
onto it and the other 3 have separate scopes. (7 Parts).
This is a neat kit, because you can use the figures in two dioramas
later. One showing 2 of them in a winter setting and the other
two during warmer weather.
This is a second box of these, for me, but I don’t regret
getting them again.
Highly recommended.
