DML has gone back to another of their popular figure sets, the
one from Operation Market Garden ("A Bridge Too Far")
in 1944 and provides the set of four SS panzergrenadiers with new
kit. The original kit dates from 2002 so is no slouch, but this
addition does improve on the original.
This one has the four original figures, each composed of the six
standard parts used for original DML figures, with the "Gen2" sprues
to upgrade their accouterments and weapons. They now come with
the GC hand grenade sprue (six "egg" grenades and eight "potato
masher" types), WA with two Kar 98k rifles with optional bolts
and six clips each, the WB sprue with two MP-40s and optional parts,
an MP44 and a Gewehr 43 self-loading rifle, and the WE with two
Panzerfaust 60 launchers and shipping box. They are also given
etched brass slings for the rifles and safety pins for the Panzerfaust.
Painting direction and box art are both by Ron Volstad.
Overall, this is a useful upgrade for anyone who missed or used
the original kit and needs a good set of panzergrenadiers in action.
Thanks to Freddie Leung of DML for the review sample.
