Italeri has released another interesting figure set in 54mm (or
1/32 scale) - Gladiators. If you're feeling like you're in the
arena at work, here is your opportunity to create a vignette or
two where you are lord and master.
The kit is molded in light yellowish-tan
styrene and each of the figures are nicely cast. The set contains
two parts trees, one tree is a duplicate of the other, so you have
eight unique figures to work with. Two of the figures are animals,
a bear and of course a lion, both on the offensive.
The remaining six figures are fighters of various builds and armed
with an array of short swords, axes, tridents, etc. Two different
shields are also provided as well, molded separately.
If you're a figure modeler or are interested in modeling the Roman
era of Gladiator games, these figures will provide a nice canvas
for the colors that varieties of armor used to entertain the Caesar
and his subjects.
My sincere thanks to Testors and
the DLV Company for this review sample!
